The 8th Annual 2004 East Coast Wahine Championships

Held this year in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina on August 21-22.  The event had good weather and some great surfing from wahines that traveled from Maine to FL. This year's ECWC was once again a huge success! Nearly 200 wahines from all over the East Coast, Texas, and California took to the water. As usual the waves were small, but thank goodness they were ridable! Kelly Nicely, believe it or not was able to hold onto her Pro Longboard and Advanced Shortboard Champion titles, though Sara Willis (pro LB) and Sarah Hoffert (Adv SB) came in a close second, with less than a point seperating first from second place. Definately a fun contest worth checking out if your in the Wilmington, North Carolina area.
